PE and School Uniform

As the current Garrowhill Primary building does not have changing facilities, many children wear their PE kit under their clothes on gym days and a concession on uniform had been made allowing children to wear joggers instead of trousers/skirts to make changing easier. Children then wear their used PE kit under their clothes for the remainder of the day. Not only is this not best practice for the comfort and hygiene of our children but wearing joggers and trainers to school does not promote our school values and dress code well. When we dress smart, we think smart .

Our new school building has female and male changing rooms on the ground floor which all classes will make use of. In addition to this facility we have some additional changing space beside the assembly hall.  Every class will have one PE session with Mrs Dalrymple and one with their own class teacher.

From 19th January children should bring their PE kit to school in their bag, change into it before their PE lesson and back into their school uniform trousers/skirt, sweatshirt, polo shirt or shirt and tie to return to class lessons fresh from their physical activity.

Please make sure that every item of clothing and personal equipment your child brings to school has their name on it. This will allow staff to support children in finding lost and misplaced belongings.
