What A day!

We have had a wonderful first day in our new school!

A mini snow blizzard stopped us cutting our red ribbon to mark our entry to the new building but his didn't dampen our spirits as we settled into our new classrooms and found our way around the building.

Everyone worked together to help children become familiar with the new Q Card system for lunch time and enjoy a lunch that was cooked on our premises.

Our children had space to play together at lunchtime and we all attended our first assembly in the afternoon in our spacious hall.

Our playground was very busy at 3pm with parents and carers getting used to having only two exit doors at one side of the building but as we get used to this everyone will make arrangements to use all of the space available and not feel the need to gather around the door areas.

Today would not have gone as well as it did had it not been for the fantastic team effort from all of the staff in Garrowhill Primary. Our teaching and support staff have worked hard to make sure all 1200 boxes are unpacked and classrooms are organised for children. Our cleaning staff ensured the school is spotless after the move on Monday and our catering staff have made sure our new cooking kitchen was able to serve all of our children a tasty first lunch. We are also very grateful to our Area managers from Cordia for the assistance they are giving us in these first days in our new school.

Thank you to our parents and carers for the patience and understanding you have shown over recent weeks when our IT and phones have been disrupted and for your on-going support as we adjust to our new surroundings.
