School Meal increase information – August 2016

Dear Parent/Carer,
You may recall that Glasgow City Council, as part of a budget decision last year, informed the public about future increases to the cost of primary school meals.
Glasgow has for many years been able to protect the cost of school meals but this has become increasingly difficult in the current financial climate.
The increase will not have any impact on pupils in P1 – P3 who will continue to receive universal free school meals.
However, from the beginning of the new term in August the daily cost of a school meal will be £1.90 for all children who pay for their lunches and do not have free meal entitlement.
Our school meal service is among the best in the country and, at £1.90 for a nutritionally balanced meal, among the most cost effective.
